George Richard Dumproff Born: October 29, 1940 in Belvidere, IL Died: July 23, 2024 in Rockford, IL George Richard Dumproff, 83, of Belvidere, IL passed away early Tuesday morning July 23, 2024 at OSF Hospital in Rockford, IL. George was born October 29, 1940 in Belvidere, IL, the son of George Edward and Helen Marie (nee Nelson) Dumproff. On April 14, 1973 he married the love of his life, Donna Mae Ponitz at United Methodist Church in Marengo, IL. In 2000, George retired from the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority after 32 1/2 years of service. He served in the Corp of Engineering for the Army from February 1961 to March 1964. He was stationed in Germany and Libya. When he returned to the states, he played on the Army basketball team. George was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time at his home in the woods in Missouri with his wife and family. Any time spent with his family was always a good time for him. He will truly be missed by many.
